College providing Sept. 25 Ring Presentation livestream and individual photos; Parents Weekend events scheduled for October 2-4 cancelled

Recognizing the academic successes of Citadel cadets and students is a special tradition each semester, even one as atypical as this.

“As a Citadel graduate who served as a state senator from Charleston for 12 years and a member of the Citadel Board of Visitors for eight years, I find the whole situation extremely troubling.”

The Citadel has made great progress during the tenure of Fred Price Jr., ’75, on the board and as board chair. That progress will continue.

“Due to the pandemic, the traditional training had to be cancelled. But, as their song says, ‘The Army goes rolling along.'”

G3 was named in honor of Coach Mike D, of The Citadel class of 1976, who passed away in 2016 who also cared for many generations of mascots.

Just one month into Capt. Julie Dewey’s new job at The Citadel, the Bulldogs will kick off their football season playing her alma mater, the University of South Florida.

The Class of 2021 will be celebrated with a traditional Ring Presentation Ceremony Sept. 25, with a livestreamed ceremony for parents.
