Some in The Citadel family have already felt the costs wrought by the worst pandemic of our lifetime…directly or through their family members.

The Citadel administration has laid out the COVID-19 testing requirements and return protocols, ahead of in-person instruction resuming on August 19.

The Citadel President, Gen. Walters, Provost Dr. Sally Selden and Commandant of Cadets Capt. Paluso, led a virtual town hall for cadets and their parents.

The Citadel has one of the most engaged alumni populations of any college in America. On July 6, Gen. Walters led a town hall specifically for alumni.

The CARES Act grants were awarded to Citadel cadets and students based on guidelines from the U.S. Department of Education.

“We are shifting our schedule by one week in order to offer our entire semester of classes on campus while still ending classes before Thanksgiving.”

Amanda Workman, who has no connection to The Citadel, proceeded to make 200 “ear savers,” plastic extenders for face masks, for the college.

Operation Fall Return 2020 sets conditions for cadets and students to return to an adapted face-to-face instruction and training model.

Ahead of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets’ arrival on campus, the school plans to implement heavy sanitizing procedures beginning on July 1st.

The Corps of Cadets achieved grades consistent with historic norms for spring semester, even after the emergency transition to online learning.
