The Palmetto Medal Award, one of the highest awards presented by The Citadel, would normally be presented during the 2020 Corps Day Weekend.

The Citadel announces the 61 rising-senior cadets who are now officially members of the Class of 2021 Summerall Guards, an elite military drill troupes.

Despite the interruptions to campus life, The Citadel is carrying on its traditions and making the next group of cadets who will lead the Corps.

“The Career Center staff is fully engaged, working for as many hours as it takes to help our students with their next steps.”

Early in March, before the campus was closed due to COVID-19, The Citadel held its annual Blue-White spring football game on Summerall Field.

Lt. Gen. Larry Nicholson, a member of The Citadel Class of 1979, was recently one of the final candidates for president of The Citadel.

“I see a maturity in your resolve to get through this together and a commitment to help each other.”

“These are unprecedented times for our country; unprecedented times for our school. We can get through this by working together,”

In celebration of Women’s History Month 2020, the college would like to introduce you to a few of our many outstanding women.
