The Citadel’s Swain Department of Nursing unveiled its new 2,000 square foot human simulation lab Friday.

When learning how to treat patients, nursing cadets and students at The Citadel now have the ability to become proficient at inserting needles, checking vital signs, and even responding to heart attack or stroke symptoms before they begin to help treat live human patients.

The Citadel -“The Military College of South Carolina” has established a new nursing program after receiving a seven-figure donation.

Preparing graduates to serve their communities is part of The Citadel’s mission, and the Swain Department of Nursing is helping to achieve that goal in a direct and meaningful way.

The Citadel plans to launch a new nursing program in January with a $4 million anonymous gift.
