Randy Bresnik, ’89, currently serves in the astronaut office for exploration at Johnson Space Center, helping lead the Artemis 3 mission to the moon in 2024.

The Citadel is remembering, and posthumously honoring, two dedicated servant leaders who were to receive honorary degrees as part of the 2020 commencements.

Regardless of the type of degree Citadel cadets and students pursue, they’re all a member of one family — The Citadel family.

Approximately a third of the South Carolina Class of 2020 earn commissions to become military officers upon graduating which will be close to 200.

Attending the 177-year-old Military College of South Carolina is a family tradition that, for some, dates back generations.

She’s been through eight commandants and 35 regimental commanders. Two of her four sons are graduates. One grandson is a graduate, and in 2021, another grandson will graduate.
