The Class of 2024 will enter the weekend having completed one of the biggest milestones in a life of a cadet.

This year’s Corps Day Weekend looked a bit different — but that did not stop The Citadel from presenting the Palmetto Medal Award.

“Having the opportunity to administer the COVID-19 vaccine seems like a small role, however, it is truly an honor to be a part of the solution to this crisis gripping our nation.”

Dr. Nance works at The Citadel training the next generation of “cyber soldiers” who will fight against hackers, he said.

The Corps’ Honor Code, a cadet does not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do,’ built inside of me a high level of integrity to help guide my decision making through many challenging times.”

The 2021 edition features nine papers and photographs written or captured by some of The Citadel’s best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students

Of the the 713 cadets she helped, two decided to return to their alma mater. So, after years, both found themselves back at The Citadel, with Ms. Oliver.

Larry Melton Jr., a member of The Citadel Class of 1984, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

After her service, she earned a BA in Intelligence and Security Studies from The Citadel and is the Student Veterans Association president.

After a year like no other, The Citadel continues one of its most important traditions: naming the cadet leadership for the next year.
