Dr. Brian Madison Jones of Johnson C. Smith University to lead SHHS, the largest academic unit of the five schools comprising the college.

A project that began with The Citadel, MUSC and Coastal Carolina University to produce crucial medical equipment has grown into a statewide effort.

MAJ David Preston, Ph.D., a Citadel History professor, is the Executive Officer of 3rd Battalion, 1st Civil Support Brigade in the S.C. State Guard.

Dan Hawkins, Dr. James Bezjian, Dr. Sarah Imam have been hard at work 3D printing six medical masks a day, to be donated to MUSC.

Maria Aselage is a full-time marketing and communications professor at The Citadel, who owns HearSay Communications, a Charleston-based boutique company.

“You don’t go through something like this without alterations. But the human spirit is resilient, and there’s a special kindness in this community.”

In response to COVID-19, three Citadel professors are working on a new design for an N95 medical mask while also printing pre-approved masks for MUSC.

Despite the interruptions to campus life, The Citadel is carrying on its traditions and making the next group of cadets who will lead the Corps.
