With heavy hearts, The Citadel family mourns the passing of U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Conor McDowell, ’17, who was killed during a tragic training accident late last week. 1st Lt.

These students were among the approximately 400 graduate and evening undergraduate students who accepted diplomas during the 2019 commencement ceremony.

These cadets were amoung the 500 graduates of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets who particiated in the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4.

Two nursing professors from The Citadel are the proud recipients of an award that honors registered nurses in our state who exemplify excellence in nursing practice and commitment to the profession.

Meet two graduates from the Class of 2019 who will use what they learned in the Zucker Family School of Education to teach others.

For the first time in the Citadel’s 176-year history, the formerly all-male military college in South Carolina will graduate a female regimental commander.

An atmosphere of jubilation percolated across campus in the final days of the 2018-19 academic year, with several event-filled days dedicated to celebrating the achievements of The Citadel Class of 2019.

Jennifer Petrone told her family her lifelong goal was to become a police officer. Now, in her Beaufort Police Department uniform, she credits her family as key to her success while standing as an example to her six children that determination can transform a goal that seems out of reach into reality.

The Citadel honored four of its most outstanding cadets and two distinguished faculty members during the South Carolina Corps of Cadets commencement.
