The first 55 cadet-recruits of the Class of 2024 are receiving the first stage of their Citadel education after reporting to campus on July 29.

Members of the athletic cadre returned to campus early to get special instruction on to train the incoming cadet-athlete recruits.

The Citadel President Gen. Walters, Provost Dr. Selden, and Commandant of Cadets Capt. Paluso, led a virtual town hall meeting to discuss Matriculation Day.

About 700 young men and women are preparing for success before entering The Citadel as cadet recruits, who will comprise the Class of 2024.

Operation Fall Return 2020 sets conditions for cadets and students to return to an adapted face-to-face instruction and training model.

In all, 13 members of The Citadel faculty retired after the 2019-2020 academic year, but their contributions will continue to be felt on campus.

The first woman to graduate from The Citadel walked the stage to accept her diploma for a master’s degree, 50 years ago, on May 29, 1970.
