Sunday, August 16 marked one of the last major milestones in The Citadel’s Operation Fall Return 2020, when most of the cadets returned to campus.

As The Citadel moves forward with Operation Fall Return 2020, an agile, conditions-based plan to return cadets and students to face-to-face instruction, college leadership is communicating regularly to keep all constituents informed.

The Citadel Class of 2024, 696 cadet recruits strong, stood in formation on Summerall Field, taking the Cadet Oath at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020.

The full Class of 2024 reported to campus throughout Saturday, August 8, joining the more than 600 cadets who were already on campus.

A select number of cadets and students worked virtually throughout the summer as paid researchers in their areas of interest, guided by expert professors.

We are taking a multi-layered and generously resourced approach that provides ongoing, carefully mapped out cleaning and disinfection to keep our campus as safe as possible.

Classrooms at The Citadel are now equipped with new technology called Swivl that helps brings the in-class experience to virtual learning via Zoom.

The Citadel’s leadership team is monitoring the development of Tropical Cyclone Isaias in concert with county and state emergency response officials.

The first 55 cadet-recruits of the Class of 2024 are receiving the first stage of their Citadel education after reporting to campus on July 29.
