Col. Myron C. Harrington, Jr., USMC (Ret.), is the recipient of the 2019 Krause Center Award for Distinguished Service, Leadership and Ethics.

“Maj. Gen. Carroll LeTellier is respectfully remembered by many in The Citadel community,” said Gen. Glenn M. Walters, USMC (Ret.), president of The Citadel. “He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for almost three decades, was known for his engineering designs and direction related to major projects around the nation including the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, and served in numerous capacities as a leader on campus. He will be greatly missed.”

The Citadel and Fulbright Canada agreed to establish a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Humanities and Social Sciences starting in the fall of 2020.

Retired Gen. Glenn Walters, USMC, will be inaugurated as the 20th president of The Citadel on Friday, April 5, 2019. The installation ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in McAlister Field House. The ceremony is open to the public and will also be live streamed via The Citadel Facebook page.

The Citadel Judo team is training for its next competition after taking first place in the senior category during the recent Southeast Regional Collegiate Judo Championships in Summerville. 

The Citadel Board of Visitors (BOV) has four new members to assist in guiding and supervising the college. ol. A. Sean Alford, Ph.D., Maj. Gen. R. Van McCarty, SCNG, and Col. James E. Nicholson Jr. are now active members of the BOV. A fourth board member, Col. Robert E. Lyon Jr. will begin serving July 1.
