Citadel freshman C.J. Walker admitted to some nervousness before he made his “elevator pitch” at the school’s Bulldog Business Bowl.

While Citadel cadets and students are away enjoying fall furlough and Thanksgiving traditions around the U.S., some of their specimens left behind in the classroom lab have completed a complicated biological phenomenon: regenerating their body parts.

The Tommy Baker Veterans Fellowship recipients for the 2017-18 academic year include seven veteran students studying at The Citadel in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. The fellowships are one part of The Citadel’s commitment to serving those who served America.

Alexis Edwards, a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, has earned the opportunity to be an intern with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) program.

During the 2017-18 academic year, The Citadel is commemorating 175 years of educating principled leaders. Leading the South Carolina Corps of Cadets during this milestone year is Regimental Commander Dillon Graham.

Leadership Day 2017 found the Corps of Cadets scattered all across the Lowcountry lending a hand and learning outside of the classroom what it means to be a leader.

Each year on Leadership Day, senior Citadel cadets fan out across the Lowcountry with a unique directive—explore corporate leadership and ethical behavior with some of the most prominent business and community leaders in the area.

The Citadel’s long-standing relationships with community partners such as the City of Charleston Recreation Department, the Charleston County School District, Habitat for Humanity and the Lowcountry Food Bank make it possible for cadets to learn the value of community service by volunteering on a regular basis.

This list is a combination of the Dean’s List and the Commandant’s Distinguished List for 2018 and is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies while maintaining excellent military and academic records.

Gold Stars are awarded to cadets who have earned a grade point ratio of 3.7 or higher for the work accomplished in the spring semester of 2016. Members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets who received the honor are as follows.
