On Saturday, Aug. 10, members of the Class of 2028 began their Citadel journey. Now, more than 750 cadet-recruits, also referred to as “knobs,” have received their company and barracks assignment and are learning what it means to be a member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.
Matriculation Day, a long-standing tradition at The Citadel, marks the beginning of the fourth-class system for the freshmen.
Another significant moment in the cadet-recruits’ journey is the Oath Ceremony, when members of the Class of 2028 stood on Summerall Field and took an oath pledging to abide by the college’s core values of honor, duty and respect as future members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.
The Class of 2028, along with the rest of Citadel cadets and students, will begin their first week of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
