The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel is reflecting on a busy October, as they hosted several events to celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month and help the campus and local communities improve their safety online.

A look at some of the events happening on campus, including Leadership Day, Cyber Awareness month events and more.

The next generation of cybersecurity professionals attended GenCyber camp at The Citadel, a weeklong summer camp that encourages local middle and high school students to pursue careers in the field of cybersecurity.

The Citadel Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Institute (CDCI) hosted cadets, students and faculty from each of the six senior military college cyber institutes on April 3 and 4.

Each year, The Citadel STEM Center of Excellence will have two summer programs — a STEAM camp and GenCyber Summer Camp.

Two cadets recently competed in the virtual National Cyber League, a competition giving students a chance to practice their cybersecurity skills. They competed against students from all over the country, and both placed in the top 100 out of more than 7,500 participants.

The Class of 2022 includes 85 cadets who studied Intelligence and Security Studies. Before graduation, some shared their career goals and advice for others considering The Citadel.

Cyberspace is a battlefield and the adversary is always out there. We need you defending our country in the cyber environment.

As The Citadel prepares cadets and students for success in the workforce, the Career Center gives them the tools needed to find the right job.
