The Citadel honored three of its most outstanding cadets during the South Carolina Corps of Cadets Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6.

The Citadel Board of Visitors presented honorary degrees to recipients during the commencement celebrations for the Class of 2023.

The Citadel Graduate College celebrated student and faculty excellence in areas of academics, leadership and service during the annual CGC Awards Ceremony.

The United States Armed Forces now have more than 180 new officers.

The annual awards convocation for the South Carolina Corps of Cadets took place on Thursday, May 4 to kick off commencement events.

Cadet Coleman Bland is now the South Carolina Corps of Cadet’s best-drilled cadet. Bland competed against 35 other cadets for the title during The Citadel’s Star of the West competition.

Cmdr. Drury “Chip” Nimmich Jr., USN (Ret.), ’76, was the 2021 President of The Citadel Alumni Association.

On May 6, more than 1,000 cadets and students from the Class of 2023 will graduate from The Citadel.

As the Class of 2023 prepares to graduate from The Citadel and step into the real world, the Air Force ROTC is preparing to commission 18 brand new 2nd lieutenants into the Air Force and Space Force. A mix of future pilots, drone controllers, intelligence officers and more will be entering into a commitment of military service for their country.

The Citadel will soon host a center designed to help South Carolina’s veterans start or expand their small businesses, through the Veterans Transformational Learning Initiative, or VTLI.
