Citadel Cadets studying abroad in Cyprus, Greece are engrossed in learning about the Cypriot culture that surrounds them.

“One thing we’ve realized ever since we’ve been here is, our kids will get up for those games,” Thompson says. “They’ll play extremely hard. Most of my guys don’t have a whole lot of scholarship offers coming out of high school. They play with a little bit of an edge.”

When almost 800,000 middle school students around the nation open the November issue of Junior Scholastic magazine, they’ll be learning about global issues, science and history. They’ll also be learning about the first woman to lead the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

The Feb. 9, 2019 event will once again bring up to 3,000 visitors to campus for what is now a tradition for many of the teams that compete. But as STEM teachers from K-12 schools, engineering mentors, business, community, college and military team leaders consider their strategies, some of them have a have a new puzzle to ponder.

The Tommy Baker Veterans Fellowship recipients for the 2018-19 academic year include five veteran students studying through The Citadel Graduate College in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs.
