Devin Abernathy is a veteran undergraduate student at The Citadel majoring in Sports Management. Abernathy served in the U.S. Coast Guard for five years.

The Citadel’s Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences is further advancing its efforts to provide high-quality learning spaces, with two new state-of-the-art labs and security resources opening this week on campus.

The Citadel’s new study abroad program at Brasenose College in Oxford outlined the beginnings of a rich relationship between the two great institutions.

The Citadel’s Department of Intelligence and Security Studies is getting ready for their newest event — an Open Source Intelligence, or OSINT, conference. Partnering with the Department of Political Science’s Governor John C. West Chair, the conference will take place from Oct. 23 through Oct. 25 inside the Capers Hall auditorium.

Over the summer, six Citadel cadets chose to spend their break at the Royal Military Academy in Breda, Netherlands.

Safia Karimi is pursuing a degree in Intelligence and Security Studies after her upbringing in Pakistan helped shaped her unique perspective in this field. She has earned placements on the Dean’s List and received Gold Star awards. Karimi is the President of the Skydiving Club.

Charles Rose is an Intelligence and Security Studies major. He was born in Angra do Heroísmo, a city on Terceira Island in Portugal. Rose serves as the Regimental Operations Officer. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career within the intelligence community.

The President’s List is one of the most distinguished cadet awards presented by The Citadel. It indicates excellence in academics and military duties.

Cari Staples is a Mechanical Engineering major from Charleston, South Carolina. She is an Army contract and has been on the Dean’s List and Commandant’s List multiple times. Staples is also a member of The Citadel’s Sailing Club.

Gold stars are awarded each semester to cadets and students who have earned a grade point ratio of 3.7 or higher.
