Matriculation information for the incoming class
Members of The Citadel Class of 2029 will arrive on campus Saturday, August 16.
From 7 – 9:30 a.m., the cadet-recruits will begin their Citadel journey at the Holliday Alumni Center (located here on the college’s virtual map) where they will pick up their company assignment packets before going to their barracks.
Vehicles will line up for check in at the Johnson Hagood Stadium parking lots near the HAC. For those unfamiliar with the area, the best address to put into a GPS is 266 Fishburne St. Traffic will be heavy and parking will be limited, so families are asked to restrict themselves to one car per incoming cadet; additional vehicles may go directly to the main campus for parking.
Hagood Gate will be closed to the public — only Citadel faculty, staff and residents will be allowed to use that entrance on Matriculation Day. After Matriculation Day, it will reopen to the public.

At the barracks, The Citadel Family Association will have parents of upper-class cadets helping move the freshmen into their rooms. Parents are also welcome to accompany their cadet-recruits to their rooms on the upper floors of each of the five barracks. All parents and visitors must be out of the barracks by 10 a.m.
Before arriving on Saturday
Incoming cadet recruits should arrive in appropriate civilian attire; to expedite the events of their first day, males should arrive clean-shaven.

Watch the Oath Ceremony livestream
The Oath Ceremony for The Citadel Class of 2029 will be livestreamed on the college’s YouTube beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 18. The class will stand on Summerall Field and take an oath pledging to abide by the college’s core values of honor, duty and respect as future members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.
