Meet Gary McKenzie: husband, father, GEICO Vice President (Southeast Region), and Masters of Science in Leadership Studies graduate. An established professional, Gary recently earned his second master’s degree and a promotion that more than tripled the number of teammates he manages for GEICO. He wanted to sharpen his leadership skills so he applied to The Citadel’s online Leadership Studies program. Now he says continuing education is a part of his lifestyle that he highly recommends to other leaders. The mission of the Department of Leadership Studies is to enhance the ability of students from any academic background to perform effectively as principled leaders in their present or future leadership roles. It is part of The Citadel Graduate College, celebrating 50 years of contributing to the success of its students.
