Greetings to our entire Citadel family!

Although we can’t be together to celebrate commencement, we can still view The Citadel’s virtual commencement experience and share our love and admiration for the Class of 2020! Let’s celebrate the achievements of our graduates, as well as the dedication and commitment of those who supported them. You can view and participate in the commencement experience in a number of ways, and we’ve prepared instructions for you below.

If you have any issues at all with your personal graduation profile, please complete this form on the virtual commencement website and we will address the issue right away.

How to watch the Virtual Commencement Ceremony

The Citadel’s Virtual Commencement Ceremony will be broadcast live on The Citadel’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and on the Virtual Commencement website. Here’s how you can access each ceremony using your platform of choice.

How to use the Virtual Commencement website

In addition to being one of the primary venues where you can watch The Class of 2020’s Virtual Commencement ceremony, the Virtual Commencement website provides many opportunities for you to celebrate your graduate before, during, and after the ceremony. 

How to watch the ceremony on the Virtual Commencement website

  1. Go to commencement.citadel.edu
  2. From the homepage, select “Corps of Cadets Commencement” or “Graduate College Commencement
  3. The virtual commencement ceremony will appear at the top of the page. If you arrive on the page prior to the start of the ceremony, you will see a countdown with the time remaining before the ceremony begins.

How to access a personal graduation profile

  1. Go to commencement.citadel.edu
  2. From the homepage, select “Corps of Cadets Commencement” or “Graduate College Commencement
  3. Scroll down to the “Search for a Graduate” module. From here, you can search for your graduate by name or click “View All” to search a complete listing of graduates from the Class of 2020.
  4. In the search results, select the name of the graduate profile you would like to access

How to use a personal graduation profile

  1. To hear the graduate’s name announced, click the “play” icon located next to the photo on their profile.
  2. (For Corps of Cadets graduates) To view all of the graduates in a company, click the name of the company that appears under their profile
  3. To share a graduate’s personal graduation profile on social media, click the appropriate share icon below their profile information
  4. To view a graduate’s video message, click the play button on their video. If you would like to save the video, you can click the “download” button below their video. For graduates who did not submit a video, a commemorative video for their graduating class will be available to view after the ceremony is complete.
  5. To leave your graduate a personal message, scroll down to the “Leave a message” module at the bottom of the page. Here, you can submit a personal message for a graduate. Once you submit your message it will be reviewed before it appears live on their profile.

How to download keepsakes from the virtual commencement website

  1. Following the end of the virtual commencement ceremony, videos from the ceremony will be available to download from the website. It may be necessary for you to refresh your internet browser after the ceremony is over for the download buttons to appear. 
  2. Click “download” below the video you wish to save. The download should begin automatically, though you may have to grant download permission through your internet browser.
