The Citadel is welcoming one of its newest hires, Andrea Gross, Ed.D., who will serve as the college’s associate provost for enrollment management.
“I am honored to join The Citadel as the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management. This position represents a unique opportunity to contribute to an institution renowned for its commitment to developing principled leaders,” said Gross. “My primary focus will be to develop and implement a strategic enrollment plan that aligns with our mission of cultivating principled leaders. By leveraging data-driven insights and innovative approaches, we will aim to attract a talented student body that embodies the values we uphold. The Citadel’s commitment to leadership and excellence is what drew me here, and I am dedicated to advancing this mission through thoughtful and strategic enrollment practices.”
In her new role, Gross will be the chief enrollment officer, responsible for leading a cross-institutional team to deliver faculty support and academic program development, comprehensive enrollment management, recruitment, veteran services and financial aid optimization.
“We are so excited for Dr. Gross to join The Citadel Family, and I am confident her wealth of enrollment experience will help recruit even more students who want to become principled leaders for any walk of life,” said The Citadel Provost Sally Selden, Ph.D., SPHR. “Her strategic attention to data is exactly in line with The Citadel’s efforts to maximize positive outcomes for our cadets and students. Dr. Gross also has a fantastic track record of incorporating customer service into all stages of recruitment, which is essential throughout a student’s college application process.”
Gross comes to The Citadel from the University of Denver where she served in positions of increasing responsibility over the last ten years, most recently as their assistant dean of enrollment management. In that role, she was responsible for enrollment into University College, the University of Denver’s college for professional and continuing studies with more than 8,000 students enrolled in various programs. During her tenure, she helped significantly increase the number of undergraduate and graduate students while also implementing a strategic enrollment management model focused on concierge-level, high-performing service.
Gross earned her Ed.D. from the University of Denver. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from California University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of William and Mary.
