The Citadel continues educational opportunities with robust summer courses and program for incoming freshmen cadets

During the summer, The Citadel offers many undergraduate and graduate courses through its summer school program. Courses are available to current Citadel cadets and students, as well as students at other institutions.

All undergraduate courses at The Citadel Summer School have transferable credits, with many courses offered during the day, evening and online. Students can choose to take courses throughout the summer, or for just one summer term.

In addition, The Citadel Graduate College offers 26 graduate degree programs with 42 concentration options and 25 graduate certificate programs, all of which are offered in the evenings and online during the summer.

The Citadel Success Institute

Incoming Citadel freshmen can register now for a program designed to help them succeed in their academics and fitness once they enter The Citadel’s 24/7 military lifestyle at the beginning of their fall semester.

The Citadel Success Institute (CSI) is an optional, 23-day program that gives future cadets an opportunity to earn college credit through core curriculum courses, learn and apply crucial academic skills, improve their fitness levels and receive guidance and mentoring from current Citadel cadets, faculty and staff. The goal is to help acclimate future cadets to the requirements and rigors of the college’s military setting.

Statistics show that freshmen participating in CSI are better prepared to succeed at The Citadel.

This year’s CSI session for future cadets will run from July 6 – July 31, costing $3,500. There are a limited number of partial scholarships available; all participants will be considered based upon their FAFSA and need.
